International Acadian Festival: Water Ceremony

Description:

Enjoy the Water Ceremony on the banks of Bayou Plaquemine at the Bayou Waterfront Park. The Water Ceremony begins as the sun goes down and the torches in the bayou are lit. The canoes, paddled by Indians, begin their journey down Bayou Plaquemine, carrying the Indian Princesses as they herald the way for Evangeline. Fireworks and music complete the event at the park.

The weekend finishes the festival with a lively Sunday morning parade (on 10/20), which rolls through the heart of the city.
