Honoree Nomination Form & Selection Criteria

 

This event will take place on Monday, February 23rd at 6:30 PM at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center. We would like to hear from citizens across Iberville on what they would like to see take place at our first Black History program. If you submitted a nomination for the event in 2025, we still have your submission for consideration this year. 

 

The deadline to submit a nominee is Monday, February 2, 2026.

Purpose

To recognize individuals — past or present — whose lives, service, and leadership have created a lasting, positive impact on the Iberville Parish community and reflect the strength, excellence, and legacy of African American history and culture.

 

Eligibility

  • Be a current or former resident of Iberville Parish.
  • Have made a significant contribution to the parish or the broader community through leadership, service, education, business, faith, arts, or civic engagement.
  • Demonstrate values consistent with integrity, perseverance, and community.
  • Living or deceased individuals may be nominated.
  • Self-nominations are not accepted.

SANDBAG DISTRIBUTION UPDATE
With heavy rain and flash flooding in the forecast this week, sandbags will be available across Iberville Parish by 4:00 PM, May 6. Reminder: You must present a valid photo ID with an Iberville Parish address to receive sandbags.
