The mission of the Iberville Parish Environmental Services Department is to help sustain a high quality of life for all citizens by protecting and enriching the environmental and public health in Iberville Parish.

The environmental services department functions as a consulting unit for the Iberville Parish Council Office, Office of the Parish President, Department of Public Works, Department of Utilities, Department of Building and Inspections, Department of Emergency Preparedness, the and Municipalities of Iberville Parish.

The environmental services department works cooperatively with State and Federal government to help the parish government, citizens, and local businesses to interpret and help compliance with applicable environmental regulatory requirements. Public awareness, education, and volunteer activities are implemented as a proactive approach to help keep residents informed of parish environmental issues and various ways to help improve the environment.

Current Projects

  • Keep Iberville Beautiful - Litter abatement, recycling, and beautification
  • Atchafalaya Basin Program - Water quality improvement, water management, and water access projects for Iberville Parish
  • Upper Terrebonne Water Quality Improvement Project - A tri-parish partnership project between Iberville, Pointe Coupee, and West Baton Rouge parishes to improve water quality in local waterways that have been listed as "impaired" and no longer supporting their public uses.
