Educational Systems
Iberville Parish is uniquely situated to offer not only primary school education options, but also post high school job training and easy access to the state’s largest and most prestigious universities in Baton Rouge. Additionally, there are multiple Community Colleges within the surrounding regions.
The Iberville Parish Public School system includes eight (8) schools and one (1) alternative school. It has an enrollment of about 4,000 students.
St. John Catholic Elementary, Middle, and High School, enrolls about 750 students and is operated by the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge.
Iberville Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school educating students in grades K-8, and is governed by the South Louisiana Charter Foundation.
 Louisiana National Guard operates its Youth Challenge Program in that provides discipline and learning for at-risk teens in a structured environment.
Louisiana’s premiere Tier one university, Louisiana State University, is also located nearby. This makes university study for bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees just a short commute away for Iberville residents.
Southern University is located in Baton Rouge. Southern University has five campuses in addition to the main campus in Baton Rouge. The Southern University System is considered the largest HBCU system in the nation.
A part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College system, River Parish Community College - Westside provides training for a variety of careers including the medical field, along with computer and other specialized courses.
One of the state’s most impressive community colleges, Baton Rouge Community College, is an easy and short ride from Iberville. This college offers courses in many subject areas, and its course credits transfer to other state colleges.
