The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps income eligible households with payments for home energy services. Assistance is available once a year, and payments aide made directly to the energy provider. Proof of income, picture identification, and social security cards for all household members required along with a bill or printout from the client's utility company/companies. Assistance is contingent upon the availability of funding.

Residents may receive crisis assistance once a year with proof of income, picture identification, and social security cards for all household members along with a bill or printout from the applicant's utility company/companies. Applicant must be responsible for the household energy cost and have a threatening or actual interruption of service. Assistance is contingent upon the availability of funding.

Provides a range of services to promote economic security and stability. CSBG may assist with utilities, rent/mortgage, food vouchers, OSHA cards, and prescription drug assistance. To qualify for the program, clients must bring proof of income, picture identification, Social Security cards for all household members, and proof of residency. Assistance is contingent upon the availability of funds.

Assists individuals and families facing eviction or foreclosure due to an unforeseen crisis. Assistance limited to a one-time payment in a 12-month period contingent upon the availability of funds. To qualify for the program, clients must have proof of income, picture identification, social security cards for all household members, and proof of residency. The Commodity Distribution Program supplements the food needs of low- and moderate-income households in Iberville Parish. The Office of Social Services along with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank coordinates the distribution of (USDA) surplus government food to eligible households.

These distributions are contingent upon availability. To qualify for the program, clients must bring the following:

• Photo ID: any picture with name (ex: driver's license, passport, work ID, school ID)
• Utility bills- electric, gas, water
• Rental agreement or receipt, or mortgage statement

Clients may be registered at one location only per USDA guidelines.

Assists individuals and families with a voucher to buy food in certain emergency cases. The client information is evaluated, and once they are processed they receive a voucher to take to the grocery store for food. This is a case by case situation. Each client must prove that it is an emergency, and they must meet the income guidelines.

Assists individuals with payments on prescription medications. This client must have a valid prescription and they must qualify based on CSBG income guidelines.
